…when you open your mail and find this:

Yup, that’s my friends Lauren and Mike’s save the date card, designed to look like a race bib. Awesome.

Mike and I met several years ago and details of the story are a bit fuzzy now if I’m being totally honest. He was visiting from out of town and came out to EWH3 for a run, but not before sending out emails to the group. I responded to one of the emails (probably with a snarky and/or witty response, one can never be certain) and by the time I met Mike in person if felt like we were old friends. In fact, this picture was snapped at the bar at the end of the night. If this doesn’t scream FRIENDSHIP!! I don’t know what does.

(It’s best not to ask why I’m biting his ear… I really don’t remember but the look on Mike’s face is priceless!)

Fast forward a few years and Mike and Lauren (who I also know through my run club) are engaged and getting married. Mike proposed at the finish line of a half marathon (how fitting!); you can read the story of his proposal here and here.

The cards are perfect for the upcoming nuptials of this running couple, I look forward to the pre-wedding run that is certain to take place!
